The „UNIQUE PAINTINGS“ project was born in the autumn of 2021, when the director of the ADELI Foundation, Zuzana Cyprichová, and her team were looking for ways to reach potential donors and engage them in the idea of supporting the treatment of clients at ADELI. The project combines the art of leading Slovak artists of world renown with the artistic expression of patients with neurological disabilities. The paintings are unmistakable, yet they are united by a common theme, which each patient and artist has interpreted uniquely.
The ADELI Foundation created unique paintings.
The creation of the artworks took place at an art workshop, where artists guided and assisted patients in working with brushes, canvas, and paints. Precious human connections and unique collaborations emerged, resulting in something truly special. The naive, yet deeply felt, passionate, and dreamlike artistic expression of people whose souls' magnitude surpasses their bodies' limitations was refined by top artists with respect, awe, and love into works that celebrate playfulness, desires, dreams, and profound humanity. The first artists who launched this exceptional project with the ADELI Foundation last year were Marek Ormandík and Karol Zbyšo Felix. Eleven unique pieces were created, some of which are still available for purchase to help patients.
The second year of the project introduces newly involved patients and academic artists.
The project's success commits us to continue it. In the ADELI Foundation, we have managed to bring more artists to Marek Ormandík and Karol Felix for the idea of supporting art therapy. A new, unique series of original paintings has been created, offering art lovers another dimension of connection between people who need help and personalities who want to help, dedicating their talent to health. For lovers of art originals, this is a rare opportunity to become supporters of a common goal through purchasing works at our auction – to help patients with neurological disabilities rehabilitate at the unique ADELI neurorehabilitation center.
Both small and large ADEL clients, with the courage to create with a brush on canvas, and three artists with big hearts will bring the idea of the UNIQUE PAINTINGS project to life together this year.
Who joined Marek Ormandík and Karol Felix? Many thanks to Katarína Vavrová, Fero Lipták, and Pavel Herman for also getting excited about the idea of art serving health.
Katarina VAVROVA (1964) is a leading representative of the imaginative-poetic line of contemporary Slovak visual art. She completed her studies in book illustration under the guidance of Prof. Brunovský and Prof. Ondreička in 1990 and is the author of hundreds of illustrations, ex libris, drawings, and paintings with a distinctive style. Her figurative work, which places the emotions of women, their tenderness, passion, and the passage of time at its center, has been represented and has collected awards at hundreds of competitions and exhibitions worldwide.
Fero LIPTÁK (1962) Graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, specializing in stage design under Professor Vychodil. As a stage designer, he has realized over 90 theater plays in the Central European region, as well as feature films and television films. He is also involved in filmmaking as an architect and artist. In his independent work, his dominant creations are design concepts for interiors and exteriors. His characteristic style is evident in his illustrations as well as his paintings. His artistic expression is typified by an inner humor, a raw sincerity, and a love for unusual stories featuring characters on the verge of comedy and tragedy.
Pavel Herman () is a painter of emotions on canvas. A painter, graphic artist, and educator, he graduated in painting and graphic arts under academician Ľuboš Bartoš. His work covers a wide range of themes, not only urban and natural landscapes, but also the equally captivating subject of woman – the female figure. In his works, he deeply penetrates the emotional world, the world of profound human experiences. In his paintings, he captures sadness, loneliness, desire, and anticipation. The colorfulness of his paintings is typical for Herman. He also engages in monumental works. Psychotronics say that his work is charged with positive energy, so his involvement in a health support project is entirely appropriate.
The ADELI Medical Center is also unique.
ADELI Medical Center is an international rehabilitation center specializing in the treatment of patients with neurological movement disorders. Since its inception in 2004, over 18,000 patients from 67 countries worldwide have undergone rehabilitation treatment here. The greatest strengths of ADELI Medical Center are its size and long-term experience, the combination of intensive rehabilitation for 5-6 hours a day, 6 days a week with a full team of therapists, and an excellent family atmosphere welcoming a wide community of families with a physically disadvantaged member. ADELI specializes in diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, strokes, conditions after severe head and brain injuries, genetic disorders, and premature babies.
