When Filipko was born, everything was fine. Except for that unfortunate third day, when his intestines started to die and they discovered necrotizing enterocolitis.. Within two months of his birth, he underwent four difficult surgeries on his small and large intestines. Within a year, he had a stoma, and after that year, his intestine began to function as it should, but other diagnoses emerged. One of them was cerebral palsy, caused by the severe surgical procedures. Filipko has had nine of them. Of course, every mother wants her child to walk and to see their first steps. We are fighting too and doing everything in our power.
Rehabilitation stays in specialized centers are financially demanding. Monthly Slovak salaries are not enough for this, and the state does not cover anything. We would be happy if Filipko could undergo a rehabilitation stay at ADELI Medical Centre in Piešťany. His progress is visible. So far, rehabilitation at ADELI has led to Filipko partially controlling his body.

November 2022 Update:
Thanks to the proceeds from the Cutting Marathon 2022, Filipko, along with his parents, had another rehabilitation stay at ADELI at the end of October 2022.
A rehabilitation course with a demanding daily program prevents the decline of both the physical and mental aspects of each patient, and also provides an opportunity to improve their health.
