Tobiasko was born a healthy baby, everything was as it should be. He rolled over for the first time at four months, but from six months old, it was as if he started to stagnate. „My husband and I decided on our own to arrange hospitalization in Martin, where Tobiasko underwent all the examinations. Because we saw that his development was going in a different direction than his older brother's. Despite the fact that the pediatrician “What held us back was that every child is different, nothing dramatic is happening yet," explains mom Ivana.
The results turned out well. complete metabolic genetic tests, fortunately, found nothing. „In principle, the conclusion was muscle hypotonia in the legs and shortened Achilles tendons. Those are already fine now.“
Tobi completed his first stay at Adeli in June 2025. He didn't know much. He only rolled onto his right side, the left side meant nothing to him, he couldn't sit up, he wasn't crawling. He only pivoted, meaning he turned on his stomach.
We left very satisfied, the little one was making progress, the physiotherapists trained me excellently – how to exercise at home. They also prepared me that it might stagnate for the first 2-3 weeks because it takes a while for the cerebellum to process everything, etc. To our immense surprise, Tobiasko sat up on his own after only two days. He was playing on the mat on the floor, the usual – he was rolling over as always and suddenly sat up. I still get goosebumps thinking about it, I almost fell off my feet. This is probably what happiness looks like.“
Tobi continued to make progress after his first stay in Adeli. About four days later, the boy started crawling. „Incredible things started happening with us. Tears of joy rolled down my face.“
The second stay took place in October 2025. Consistent practice at home paid off. Tobi started getting on his knees by himself, he even stands up and gets into an upright position, and he's starting to step with his legs – a hint as if he wants to stand up.
Tobi has a huge milestone ahead of him – his first independent step. „To stand up by himself and walk into a step. When the physiotherapist at Adeli gets him into an upright position, she only holds him by the pelvis, and the little one walks on his own. Even with half-kilogram weights on his legs. They tell us he has beautiful walking patterns and that it’s only a matter of time before he dares to take his solo step. He’s just a little scared, after all, it's a significant change in position for him. Until now, he was only on the ground, and now we're going to some height. My husband and I are thrilled. Most of his two-year-old peers are already cheerfully toddling around, but that doesn't matter. We are full of hope that Tobi will join them one day. Thanks to Adeli, who are really systematically getting him on his feet.“
